Olajengbesi pledges support for teachers’ welfare, professional development in Obokun/Oriade

The Accord candidate for the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election, Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi, has pledged to support initiatives aimed at improving teachers’ welfare and professional development across the constituency.

Olajengbesi made the pledge in a Teachers’ Day message issued through the Pelumi Olajengbesi Youth and Student Network (POYSN), where he described teachers as critical shapers of the future and commended their dedication to educating the next generation.

The Accord candidate also acknowledged what he described as improvements in workers’ salaries under the administration of Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, saying Accord and the governor were committed to the interests of teachers and workers.

Olajengbesi thanked teachers across Obokun/Oriade for their sacrifices, commitment to duty and continued service to their communities.

He particularly acknowledged their role in educating students and their participation in the recent Osun State governorship election.

According to him, sustained investment in teachers’ welfare and working conditions remains important to strengthening the education sector and ensuring better outcomes for students.

“Teachers shape the future, and those who shape the future deserve our support and appreciation. I salute the teachers of Obokun/Oriade for their sacrifices and service. Better days are ahead,” he said.

Olajengbesi further pledged to support programmes focused on improving teachers’ welfare and creating opportunities for professional development if elected to represent the constituency.

The message was issued as part of activities marking the 2026 Teachers’ Day celebration.
