Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, has signed the Osun State Park Management Bill into law, formally restructuring the management of motor parks across the state and proscribing the activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Osun State.
The Governor signed the legislation at the Government House in Osogbo shortly after the bill was passed by the Osun State House of Assembly.
Governor Adeleke described the new law as a significant step towards modernising the state's transportation system and addressing long-standing challenges affecting the management and operation of motor parks.
He commended members of the State House of Assembly for what he described as a proactive approach to resolving the recurring crises in the motor park sector, stating that he was convinced the legislation provided the best solution to the challenges confronting park operations across the state.
The Governor assured stakeholders that implementation of the new law would commence immediately. He also pledged that his administration would ensure inclusiveness and efficient service delivery in accordance with the provisions of the legislation.
The development was announced in a statement issued by the Governor's spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed.
The new legislation is expected to usher in a new framework for the administration and management of motor parks across Osun State.
