POYSN welcomes Davido’s endorsement of Olajengbesi

The Pelumi Olajengbesi Youth and Student Network (POYSN) has welcomed the public endorsement of Pelumi Olajengbesi’s bid for the House of Representatives in the 2027 election by Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.

Davido, in a public show of support on Monday, described Olajengbesi as “my other project” and referred to his candidacy as a “100% winning ticket”.

Reacting to the endorsement, POYSN Coordinating Director (Administration & Strategy), Gbenga Olaleye, said the development had further spotlighted Olajengbesi’s aspiration and strengthened conversations around generational change in political representation across the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency.

Olaleye described Olajengbesi as a role model for young people seeking to challenge conventional patterns of political representation, while charging him to remain firmly focused on the interests of the people.

He urged Olajengbesi to regard the growing public attention surrounding his aspiration as a responsibility and to sustain meaningful engagement with youths, students and other constituents across the constituency.

The Coordinating Director also encouraged young people across Oriade and Obokun to remain actively involved in the democratic process and contribute meaningfully to conversations about the future of representation in their communities.

POYSN further welcomed the growing media attention surrounding Olajengbesi’s bid, saying the publicity would provide constituents with an opportunity to engage with his ideas, vision and priorities ahead of the 2027 election.

The statement was signed by Segun Amure, Director of Media and Publicity, POYSN.
